Prof Devaki Nair is a Nationally and internationally recognised expert in management of raised cholesterol and triglyceride levels in blood. Raised cholesterol and or raised triglycerides increases one’s risk for developing heart disease or stroke. Prof Devaki Nairhas extensive experience in managing inherited forms of high cholesterol and triglycerides. Prof Devaki Nair has published several papers in the field of lipidology.
She is also has served and continues to serve as the principal and chief investigator for many clinical trial s involving the novel f therapies for hyperlipidaemia. Prof Devaki Nair, contributes to local, National and International guidelines on lipid management . She has a special interest in managing inherited forms of hyperlipidaemia as well as managing CVD risk in the South – Asian. population who are shown to have a very high risk for CVD.

Professor Nair runs a specialist private lipid clinic at the Lyndhurst Unit at the Royal Free Hospital, London where she offers expert care to national and international patients seeking advanced management for lipid disorders and cardiovascular risk reduction. Professor Nair is actively involved in clinical research and has led numerous national and international trials as Chief and Principal Investigator for novel lipid-lowering therapies. Her pioneering work includes setting up cardiovascular risk clinics in community and faith-based settings, supported by the NHS Innovation Fund and Pfizer Foundation.
She has received funding from organisations such as the Department of Health, HEART UK, the British Heart Foundation, Novartis, and Amgen, and has established specialist clinics such as the Injectable Therapy Clinic and Lipid Optimisation Clinic at the Royal Free Hospital.
A passionate educator, Professor Nair served as the Training Programme Director for Chemical Pathology in North Central London until 2022 and was Regional Advisor for the Royal College of Pathologists. She is also an examiner in the specialty and holds an adjunct professorship at the Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences, Kochi, India, where she supervises PhD students and contributes to postgraduate training. Her international teaching includes work in Sri Lanka, Kuwait, and her annual Clinical Lipidology Course in India, which has earned her a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Lipid Association of India.
